Real Madrid won by the smallest of margins last Tuesday against Cacereño in the round of 16 of the Copa Del Rey. A victory that bears the imprint of the Brazilian Rodrygo Goes, who took the opportunity to pay tribute to the Pele King whose funeral took place the same day.

The Copa Del Rey matches are not usually smiling for Real Madrid, and were it not for the decisive entrance of Rodrygo Goes last Tuesday, Carlo Ancelotti’s men could have lived another nightmare evening. It is to say that it is the Brazilian who managed to save the face of a team that was in collective perdition.

Indeed, Real Madrid was on stage last Tuesday for its debut in the Copa Del Rey. And if the evening was muddy, Rodrygo and his goal were the only highlights of the white house against Cacereño. The Brazilian made a great move and finished with a great shot to make it 1-0 and qualify Real for the last 16 of the competition.

And after his wonderful goal, Rodrygo wanted to pay tribute to Pele, with whom he had a great relationship and who was the great idol of Brazil and Santos, the team in which the Real Madrid player was trained. His game was already a tribute, but Rodrygo wanted more and celebrated the goal with the jumps, with the gestures that Pele used to do when he scored.

Then he raised his fingers and eyes to the sky to dedicate the goal to “O Rei”. Even better, after the match, Rodrygo posted a tweet on his social networks, in memory of Pele: “For you, REI”, wrote the Real Madrid player with a photo of his celebration in Cáceres and next to it, one of Pele.
