Bayern Munich: the 7 players behind the dismissal of Julian Nagelsmann revealed

Bayern Munich les 7 joueurs à l’origine du licenciement de Julian Nagelsmann révélés

Bayern Munich changed coach at the end of last week. An unexpected situation that was the result of the misunderstanding or at least the mismanagement of the Bavarian dressing room by the German technician. And if everyone knew that there were players involved, the names were unknown, but no longer for the moment.

Julian Nagelsmann was dismissed from the bench of Bayern Munich on Thursday, March 23, 2023. A decision that surprised everyone, since the German club is still alive (and in a good position) in competitions such as the Champions League and the Bundesliga, although they came back behind Dortmund after the defeat before the break. And even though Bayern just lost in the Bundesliga to Xabi Alonso’s Bayer, their chances of winning the title are still very real.

Indeed, the more time passes, the more details become clear. We already know that the relationship with the dressing room was not good. There were disagreements, and we now know with which players he did not have good relations. And it was Bild who announced that part of the locker room was not very fan of the coach. The first names to be revealed are those of Manuel Neuer and Sven Ulreich, who did not get along with the coach since the sacking of Tapalović, the team’s goalkeeping coach.

Other players like Gnabry, Sané, Musiala, Cancelo and Mané were also not big fans of the coach, who had the main players of the team against him. The case of the Portuguese, who arrived in the winter mercato from City after falling out with Pep Guardiola, is surprising. Only a few days after his arrival in Munich, he was seen complaining when Nagelsmann decided to leave him on the bench. On the other hand, Thomas Muller was not on the other side. The striker does not belong to the group of players who made Nagelsmann’s bed and caused him to leave the bench in the middle of the season.

There are others like Joshua Kimmich and Leon Goretzka who diplomatically expressed their opinion a few hours ago on the Bayern board. “Absolutely not,” Kimmich replied when a reporter from ZDF wanted to know if Nagelsmann had lost the locker room. “It happened because we didn’t win enough games and because we didn’t have enough success. Of course, we are still alive in all competitions.”

“However, it has become clear that we have not been up to the task, especially in the Bundesliga. We have only won five of the last ten games. But the manager has not lost the dressing room. I’ve been through several coaching changes, but it’s not like we saw it coming in the dressing room because the players were unhappy,” he explained.
