Barça-Real Madrid: the architect puts an end to the debate on Marco Asensio’s offside goal in the Clasico

Barça-Real Madrid l'architecte met fin au débat sur le but hors-jeu de Marco Asensio dans le Clasico

Tribuna

Real Madrid and Barcelona are in a historical rivalry that Xavi was able to feed to wake up his team. Since even since last season when nothing worked, his goal was the clasico. And although he lost the first leg, he signaled his comeback in a great way in the return with the famous 0-4 at the Santiago Bernabeu. And if we thought that it was only a nightmare, well, no. The Spaniard has found a way to always beat Ancelotti and proves it this season.

Indeed, in the last clasico, Real Madrid was again beaten by Barcelona 2-1 at the Camp Nou. And the least we can say is that it would not be so if the goal of Marco Asensio had been validated. And two days after the Barça-Real Madrid match, discussions continue about the disallowed goal of Asensio, which could have changed the outcome of the match.

As a reminder, the goal was disallowed due to offside, and although some argue that the offside position was not one, Nacho Tellado, architect and analyst of this type of game, confirmed on social media that the offside did exist.

To this end, Nacho Tellado’s explanation shows that, as has been commented, the VAR chose the wrong “frame”, but in reality, this means that the distance between Marco Asensio and Koundé was less than that which actually existed when Carvajal executed the pass.

In other words, the offside was even clearer than what the images provided by the VAR revealed. It is worth remembering that the aforementioned goal by Marco Asensio was scored when the score was still 1-1 and, therefore, 1-2 could have left Real Madrid 6 points behind Barca. But the goal was never validated and it was then that Kessié scored the 2-1 goal that definitively sealed La Liga.
